Fans of Dilip Kumar would often turn to his Twitter handle for interesting clips from his films, health updates and much more. Dilip Sahab and his wife Saira Banu's family friend Faisal Farooqui operated the account. However, post the demise of the legendary actor on July 7, there is not much activity happening on that page. The Twitter handle was made the official archive of the tweets of Dilip Sahab.
But now, Mr Farooqui has decided to deactivate Dilip Sahab's Twitter account with Saira Banu's consent. He informed fans that the account will no longer be active. He tweeted, "After much discussion and deliberation and with the consent of Saira Banu ji, I hv decided to close this twitter account of beloved Dilip Kumar Saab. Thank you for your continuous love and support. -Faisal Farooqui"

However, fans are requesting Mr Farooqui to retain the account and rename it to Dilip Kumar Memorial. People even asked him to use the account to share film clips and other material. One user tweeted, "It's not necessary to close it. You may rename it to 'Dilip Kumar Memorial' and then use the account to post clips from his movies or his interviews and stuff like these." Another person said, "How can you guys delete his memories? This is a memory. Let it be. His legacy should live on. With the new generation using social media platform much more. This is the link to a great 60 years of cinema history."

While we respect wishes of Saira ji, how about an account exclusively to tell about his cinematic achievements, tidbits of his life. Let the younger generation know what an epitome of acting HE was.His legacy needs to be cherished in this age of SM, through SM.

That doesn't sound like a wise idea. Please let it stay. You can share Dilip sb's photos and video occasionally. Not that the great man needs anything like that to be remembered. He lives on in millions of hearts around the world

Please don't close this account @FAISALmouthshut ji.
Please can you use this account to post pictures, clips of Sir (personal, at functions or from his films), so we can celebrate his life.
Yet, if mam still doesn't want to, I will respect her decision as well.
Thank you. pic.twitter.com/SV8BOLLOpw— Kr1shna (@krishna_Ind1an) September 15, 2021
