Aamir Khan-Kareena Kapoor Khan's Laal Singh Chaddha to release on Valentine's Day next year, Ranveer Singh's '83 takes up its Christmas 2021 slot

The Chief Minister of Maharashtra, Uddhav Thackeray, on Saturday, announced that theatres in the state will reopen on October 22. The decision has come across as a ray of hope and the film industry is hoping to revive business with the release of big-budget films that were put on hold for almost 2 years. Amid this, Aamir Khan's production house- Aamir Khan Productions- issued a statement to welcome the Maharashtra State Government's decision. 

In the statement, it was mentioned that Aamir won't be able to release his much-anticipated film Laal Singh Chaddha on Christmas this year. It was stated that the pandemic caused a delay and now, the official Hindi remake of Forrest Gump will open in theatres on Valentine's Day, 2022. "We welcome the decision of the administration to allow cinemas to re-open from 22nd Oct. Due to the delays faced as a result of the pandemic, we will be unable to release our film Laal Singh Chaddha, this Christmas. We will now be releasing Laal Singh Chaddha on Valentine’s Day, 2022," the statement read.

People, who were waiting to watch a film in theatres, won't be left disappointed as Ranveer Singh is arriving with his '83 team. The film directed by Kabir Khan will release on December 25. '83 also stars Deepika Padukone, Tahir Raj Bhasin, Harrdy Sandhu, Nishant Dahiya, Dinker Sharma, Saqib Saleem, Jatin Sarna, Jiiva, Pankaj Tripathi, Boman Irani and Ammy Virk. 

Sharing a still from the film '83, Ranveer wrote, "It’s time……….. 83 IN CINEMAS THIS CHRISTMAS. Releasing in Hindi, Tamil, Telugu, Kannada and Malayalam. #ThisIs83."
