The decision of reopening theatres in Maharashtra taken by Chief Minister Uddhav Thackeray was welcomed by the film industry. People residing in the state can go to theatres from October 22. A day after the decision was made public after a closed-door meeting with Rohit Shetty, Jayantilal Gada and others, many production houses are looking forward to releasing their films in theatres.
Sajid Nadiadwala, today, announced the release dates of his films Bachchan Pandey, Tadap and Heropanti 2. It was announced that Tadap, a romantic thriller that marks the acting debut of Suniel Shetty's son Ahan Shetty, will release as per the schedule that is on December 3 this year. The film also stars Tara Sutaria in the lead.

On the other hand, Akshay Kumar, Kriti Sanon, Arshad Warsi and Jacqueline Fernandez's Bachchan Pandey will release in theatres on March 4, 2022. The film is directed by Farhad Samji and is about a gangster who aspires to be an actor. Akshay plays the titular role whereas Kriti is said to be a journalist wanting to be a film director.
Tiger Shroff's Heropanti 2 will release on May 6 in theatres. Tara Sutaria plays the female lead whereas Nawazuddin Siddiqui is the antagonist. The film directed by Ahmed Khan is currently being shot in the United Kingdom. Tiger started his acting career with the first installment of Heropanti in 2014 along with Kriti Sanon.
