The makers of the Ajay Devgn-starrer sports drama Maidaan on Thursday announced the release date of the film. Maidaan, inspired by the incredible story of one of India's finest coaches, is all set to hit the silver screen on June 3, 2022.
Ajay released a new poster of the film along with the new release date. He wrote, "Maidaan, A story that will resonate with every Indian, a film that I feel very strongly about. Mark the date on your calendar. Releasing worldwide on 3rd June, 2022."
Maidaan is inspired by the true story of Indian football coach Syed Abdul Rahim, who coached and managed the national team from 1950 till his death in 1963, and is considered by many as the man who changed the face of modern Indian football.
Directed by Amit Ravindernath Sharma, the film also features Priyamani, Gajraj Rao, and Rudranil Ghosh. Maidaan is produced by Zee Studios, Boney Kapoor, Akash Chawla, and Arunava Joy Sengupta with screenplay and dialogue by Saiwyn Quadras and Ritesh Shah respectively. The film is all set to release on June 3, 2022.
