Shanaya Kapoor talks about judgements that come with 'star kid' tag, says 'I focus on the positives, rest just fades out'

Shanaya Kapoor, the daughter of actor Sanjay Kapoor and Maheep Kapoor, is preparing for her big Bollywood launch project under Karan Johar's banner Dharma Productions. Her debut film is said to be a love triangle co-starring Gurfateh Singh Pirzada and Lakshya. While the film is yet to go on floors, Shanaya is already a social media sensation. Despite enjoying a great fan following before stepping into the world of cinema, she is often judged by trolls for being a 'star kid'.

In a recent interview with a media agency, Shanaya opened up about being judged for being a 'star kid' and how she deals with all the negativity that comes her way on social media. The young and upcoming starlet said judgements are a part of the career she is pursuing. But, she rather chooses to ignore negative messages and focus on those who cheer for her. "Judgements are an inevitable part of the work I am pursuing, but I stay positive and focus on the people who are always cheering me on, whether it be followers on Instagram or the press/media, I focus on their love and support, then the rest just fades out for me! Focusing on the positives is the way to be," Shanaya told.

While Shanaya was preparing for her Bollywood debut, she also worked on her cousin Janhvi Kapoor's Netflix film titled Gunjan Saxena: The Kargil Girl as an Assistant Director. Recalling her experience, Shanaya said, "Being a part of Gunjan Saxena was extremely special, and a very important journey for me to undergo before I started my career. I wanted to learn how a film is made, what the process is like, what are the aligned jobs for everyone on set, how actors prep for their roles, how background action works, there was so much I got to understand. It was a wonderful, fulfilling and enriching experience to see the entire team work towards one goal, it's so wholesome making a film."

She further shared that working as an Assistant Director taught her a lot about cinema and filmmaking. "It made me fall in love with what I want to do even more! The biggest takeaway for me was learning how the process before reaching set is the defining foundation of creating the story! I understood a lot that I wasn't aware of before," Shanaya added.

Shanaya's Bollywood debut was to be announced in July this year. However, due to the second wave of the COVID-19 pandemic, the announcement was postponed. PeepingMoon.com, on October 08, exclusively informed readers that Shashank Khaitan will be directing Shanaya, Gurfateh and Lakshya in the urban love triangle.
