Noted Screenwriter Shafeeq Ansari of Bagbaan fame passed away this morning at the Kokilaben Dhirubhai Ambani hospital in Mumbai after a prolonged illness. His son Mohsin Ansari confirmed the news of the writer's sad demise. The veteran writer's last rites are going to be performed later today at the Oshiwara Kabristan.
Shafeeq Ansari started his career as a writer in 1974 with Dharmendra and Shatrughan Sinha starrer Dost. Followed by Dharmendra and Hema Malini starrer Dil Ka Heera in 1990 he penned Dilip Kumar, Govinda and Madhuri Dixit starrer Izzatdar followed by Pyaar Hua Chori Chori which had Mithun and southern actress Gouthami.
Shafeeq further joined hands with veteran filmmaker B.R Chopra and was credited as one of the dialogues and screenplay writers of one of the most renowned films Bhagbaan featuring Amitabh Bachchan, Hema Malini and Salman Khan starrer.
The 84 years old Ansari is survived by his son Moshin and daughter who resides at Andheri in Mumbai.
