It is indeed a happy Diwali for Team Sooryavanshi. The film starring Akshay Kumar and Katrina Kaif is finally releasing today across the entire country. However, there was a tussle between the makers of Sooryavanshi and the multiplexes. Rohit Shetty, the director of the film, breathed a sigh of relief as the stressful day came to an end. The issue between Team Sooryavanshi and multiplexes was resolved a few hours before the clock struck midnight.
Rohit shared the happy news with all his fans who were waiting to book tickets. On Instagram, the director-producer wrote, "Last battle won! Sooryavanshi releasing across all multiplexes and single screens all over the country. My audience who have been waiting eagerly can book their tickets now! Going home for the first meal of the day! And by the way, Happy Diwali to the whole film industry."
Rohit, who kept his promise of releasing Sooryavanshi in theatres and waited for nearly 2 years, demanded a 57.5% revenue share in the first week. However, three national multiplexes agreed to offer only 52.5% revenue share to Sooryavanshi, which was 5% lesser than what's offered to Rajinikanth's Annaatthe.
Sooryavanshi, directed by Rohit Shetty, is produced by Reliance Entertainment, Rohit Shetty Picturez, Dharma Productions and Cape of Good Films. Ajay Devgn and Ranveer Singh will be seen in cameos.
