IFFI 2021: Samantha Ruth Prabhu becomes first South Indian actress to be invited as speaker, The Family Man 2 co-star Manoj Bajpayee to join her

The International Film Festival of India (IFFI) is scheduled to take place in Goa from November 20-28. The nine-day long film festival is conducted jointly by the Directorate of Film Festivals (under Ministry of Information and Broadcasting) and the state Government of Goa annually. This year, the organisers have invited Samantha Ruth Prabhu as a speaker along with her The Family Man 2 co-star Manoj Bajpayee. 

This is the first time that a South Indian actress has been invited to speak at IFFI. In 2021, Samantha made her web debut with Raj & DK-created multilingual show The Family Man 2. She was seen as the main antagonist Raji, who is pitted against Indian spy Srikant Tiwari (Manoj). The audience lauded The Family Man 2 for its tight narrative and powerful performances by Manoj and Samantha. Director Aruna Raje, actor John Edathattil, and director Vivek Agnihotri will be attending IFFI as speakers.

Samantha, who majorly did Telugu and Tamil films, is showing interest in doing Hindi projects too. On Bol Bollywood Bol, that Samantha is in talks with Taapsee Pannu for a film. Taapsee recently turned producer and launched her own production house Outsiders Films and has also approached Samantha with a female-led thriller drama. Samantha is yet to officially sign and announce her Bollywood debut. 

Workwise, she wrapped up the shoot of Shaakuntalam. She will be seen in Vignesh Shivan's Kaathu Vaakula Rendu Kaadhal with Vijay Sethupathi and Nayanthara.
