This is not the first time that Hema's cheeks were compared to roads. In 2005, the then Railway Minister Lalu Prasad Yadav sparked off a controversy by saying that roads of Bihar would be 'as smooth as Hema Malini’s cheeks.' In 2019, Congress leader PC Sharma faced backlash for promising that the government would make Madhya Pradesh roads as smooth as the actress's cheeks.
