Ranveer Singh and his team take a victory lap in the latest poster of ’83 ahead of its trailer release; Prithviraj Sukumaran’s production house to present the film in Malayalam

Ranveer Singh’s ’83 is making the wait for its trailers much more difficult since a brand new poster of the film was released by the actor today. The poster features Ranveer as Kapil Dev and his teammates dressed in their Indian team’s jerseys and taking a victory lap after winning the 1983 World Cup on which the film is based.

Sharing the picture on social media, Ranveer captioned it, “Like people says, taste the success once… tongue want more.” - Kapil Dev, 1983 2 Days To #83Trailer. 83 RELEASING IN CINEMAS ON 24TH DEC, 2021, in Hindi, Tamil, Telugu, Kannada and Malayalam. Also in 3D. #ThisIs83.”

Directed by Kabir Khan the film also stars Deepika Padukone as Kapil’s wife Romi Dev. It also has Pankaj Tripathi, Saqib Saleem, Ammy Virk, Tahir Raj Bhasin, Saahil Khattar, Jatin Sarna, Chirag Patil, Jiiva, Dinker Sharma, Nishant Dahiya, Adinath Kothare, Harrdy Sandhu, Dhairya Karwa, R Badree, Neena Gupta, Boman Irani and others.

On the other hand, Prithviraj Sukumaran 's Prithviraj Productions has united with Reliance Entertainment to present the Malayalam version the film this Christmas in cinemas. In a statement, Prithviraj said, "'83 is a true story of the greatest triumph of the Indian cricket team in the year 1983. It is a riveting tale that needs to be told and I take pride in presenting one of the most awaited films across India and the rest of the world."
 

Kabir Khan, the film's director and producer, said, "We are honoured to have Prithviraj Productions on board and support the release of the Malayalam version of '83'. The film has a pan-India connect and with the support of Prithviraj, it is sure to appeal to the local audience."

’83 is scheduled to release on December 24, 2021, in theatres.
