Just a few days before her 4th wedding anniversary in October, Samantha Ruth Prabhu announced separation from her husband Naga Chaitanya. The actress has maintained a dignified silence over the matter despite intense trolling and unwanted rumours. In a recent roundtable interview, Samantha opened up about facing criticism on social media, receiving nasty comments and how she built her strength over the years.
Sanya Malhotra, who was a part of the roundtable interview, spoke about how social media consumes her and revealed that she reads comments on Instagram posts. Making a reference to that, Samantha told, "When I hear what Sanya says, I remember myself being there. It was a while ago. I remember crumbling and being sad."
Talking about the trolling, Samantha thanked her fans for showering love on her. The actress added she likes to share her life with her loved ones including fans and knows that she is ‘inviting these people into (her) life’ when she does so. She said that people can be disappointed if her thoughts and opinions don't align with their views. Samantha said, "Yes, they are going to troll and abuse you but then, disagreements happen even between friends and family, right?” Samantha added that though she never asked for ‘unconditional acceptance’, the disapproval could have been communicated differently.
Revealing her plans for the next year, Samantha said, "With everything that has happened with my personal life in 2021, I really have no expectations. All my carefully laid plans have crumbled. I have no expectations, I am open to whatever the future has in store for me. I just know that I will give it my very best."
