Koffee Shots With Karan: Sara Ali Khan recalls the worst criticism she received for Love Aaj Kal, says 'that was pretty rude'

Sara Ali Khan, who is gearing up for the release of Aanand L. Rai's much-anticipated film Atrangi Re, made a rock-solid debut in Bollywood with Abhishek Kapoor's Kedarnath (2018). She summed up that year with yet another blockbuster, Simmba. After tasting success, Sara experienced her first failure with Love Aaj Kal co-starring Kartik Aaryan. The Imtiaz Ali-directorial failed to impress the critics and audience.

Recently, Sara graced the couch of Koffee Shots With Karan with her Atrangi Re co-star Dhanush. The episode premiered on Disney + Hotstar's YouTube channel on Tuesday. During her appearance on the show, the actress opened up about receiving rude comments for Love Aaj Kal. She told host Karan Johar, "I think Mr Kamaal R Khan said that I have been exposed after Love Aaj Kal. That was pretty rude."

Sara, being the eldest among all the four children of Saif Ali Khan, shared a piece of advice for her half-brother Taimur Ali Khan on being asked to do so. She shared, "I think he has got it. He is a star.” When Karan reminded that he is just 5 years old and "has not got it" yet, Sara promptly said, "Oh my God, I don’t know what to say. Why am I so bad?"

Talking about her brother Ibrahim Ali Khan, who is currently assisting Karan on Rocky Aur Rani Ki Prem Kahani, Sara added, "Ibrahim is older, so I guess I would probably tell him the same thing my parents always told me, to stay balanced and have a sense of yourself external to the films."
