PeepingMoon Exclusive: Jamtara actor Sparsh Srivastava to headline Kiran Rao's next directorial!

Aamir Khan and Kiran Rao might have ended their marriage but their professional relationship remains intact. As Peepingmoon.com exclusively revealed in October, Kiran is gearing up for her second directorial, and Aamir will produce that film under his production banner. Kiran is returning to direction over a decade after her first directorial venture Dhobi Ghat which starred Aamir, Prateik Babbar, Monica Dogra, and Kriti Malhotra in the lead role. Now, we have got the details of the leading actors Kiran has locked for her next venture.

Industry sources have informed us that Kiran Rao has roped in three relatively fresh faces — Sparsh Srivastava, Pratibha Ranta, and Nitanshi Goel to play the lead roles in her next social comedy-drama. All three actors come from the Television background and have worked in several popular television serials. Sparsh featured in Colors TV's Balika Vadhu and is widely known for playing the central role in Netflix hit Jamtara: Sabka Number Aayega while Pratibha is a 21-years old actress known for her Zee TV show, Qurbaan Hua. Nitanshi Goel is a child actor who has featured in TV serials like Thapki Pyaar Ki, Peshwa Bajirao, and films such as Vicky Donor and MS Dhoni: The Untold Story.

Kiran Rao's new film is rooted in a village and revolves around a boy and two girls. It's diametrically different from her first directorial Dhobi Ghat which was set in the city of Mumbai and narrated the story of four different people whose lives get entwined by fate and luck. Kiran's decision of casting new actors doesn't come as a surprise considering she has been a champion of independent cinema and has always preferred new talents for her stories. Sparsh Srivastava, Pratibha Ranta, and Nitanshi Goel will all be seen in de-glam roles, going through a rough phase in their lives.

The yet-untitled film is scheduled to go on floors in the first week of January. It will be shot in Shirdi, Bhopal, and Mumbai between January and March 2022. Kiran is apparently planning to showcase the film at various international film festivals next year before releasing it in India. The Aamir Khan production is being creatively supervised by Tanaji Dasgupta!
