In the third wave of COVID-19, Sonu Nigam has tested positive along with his family. The singer shared a video message on Instagram and gave an update on his health. Sonu, his wife, son and sister-in-law are currently recovering from COVID-19. In the video message, Sonu said that he is in Dubai. He revealed that he had planned to visit India for work but when he got himself tested before the travel, his report came positive.

"I am in Dubai. I had to come to India to perform in Bhubaneswar and shoot for Super Singer season 3. I got myself tested I was positive. I got retested, I was still positive and again got retested but my results came out to be positive. But I think people will have to live with it. Many times, I have performed at concerts while being down with viral fever, having a bad throat or congestion. This feels a lot better than that, I am not dying," Sonu told.

Sharing the video, Sonu wrote, "I tested Covid +. Happy New Year 2022 to the extended family!"
