Just when the film industry was getting back on its feet, the new variant of COVID-19, named Omicron, created havoc. Due to the rising number of cases, theatres across the nation have either shut down or are operating at 50% capacity. Considering the grim situation, filmmakers, who were gearing up for the theatrical release of their films, have decided to hold back till things get better.
After RRR, Prabhas and Pooja Hegde's Radhe Shyam has been postponed indefinitely. In an official statement, the production house mentioned, "We have been trying our best for the past few days, but considering the growing cases of Omicron variant, it looks like we will have to wait for our labour of love to get to the big screens. Radhe Shyam is a story about love Vs. destiny and we are sure that your love will help us rise over these tough times together. Will see you in the cinemas soon."
Radhe Shyam, directed by Radha Krishna Kumar, also stars Bhagyashree, Sathyaraj, Jagapathi Babu, Sachin Khedekar and Priyadarshi in supporting roles. The film revolves around Vikramaditya and Prerana. Set in 1970s Europe, Prabhas plays a world-renowned palmist and Pooja is his love interest.
Radhe Shyam was scheduled to release on January 14.
