Anushka Sharma's Clean Slate Filmz partners with Netflix and Amazon, strikes a Rs 4 billion deal

Anushka Sharma is one of Bollywood's top actresses. While she went missing from the big screens after Zero, she got busy producing some brilliant content under her banner Clean Slate Filmz. The production house is owned by Anushka and her brother Karnesh Sharma. Now, in the latest development, OTT giants, including Netflix and Amazon have partnered with Clean Slate Filmz to release films and web shows worth Rs. 4 billion ($54 million).

Karnesh, in a statement, said Clean Slate Filmz will release 8 films and series on these over-the-top streaming sites as well as some others in the next 18 months. The titles were not revealed as they are yet to be announced officially. Netflix's spokesperson told a portal that the platform will be releasing three projects produced under Anushka's production house.

Clean Slate Filmz was established in 2013. The first project was NH10 (2015) starring Anushka, Neil Bhoopalam, Darshan Kumaar and Deepti Naval. The Sharma siblings produced films like Phillauri and Pari. Their first web show was Paatal Lok. Anushka and Karnesh also produced the web film Bulbbul. Their next web films are Qala and Mai.

Anushka will be returning to acting with Netflix's Chakda Xpress based on former captain of India national women's cricket team Jhulan Goswami. It will also be produced under Clean Slate Filmz.
