Social media influencer Freddy Birdy was in the news lately when he had a public spat with Deepika Padukone last week. Today, he took to Instagram to support Kangana Ranaut for blasting a journalist for asking her a question on Freddy’s alleged sexist post against Deepika last night at the launch of her new reality show Lock Upp.
Taking to his Instagram stories, Freddy shared a video of Kangana lashing out at the journalist for asking a question about her mentioning her upcoming film Gehraiyaan at the show’s launch that is being produced by Ekta Kapoor. He wrote, “@kanganaranaut saying exactly what I want to say, but more eloquently." He also called Kangana 'Queen' in his stories.
Last night, the journalist had asked Kangana her thoughts on the influencer questioning Deepika’s ‘hemlines and necklines’ during the Gehraiyaan promotions. Kangana said, “Look, I am here to defend those who can’t defend themselves. Alright? She can defend herself. She has the privilege, the platform and I can’t promote her film here. Sit down.” When the reporter continued and said, ‘the intention was not to promote any film’, Kangana snapped, “Of course, you named the film. You are also naming a film which is coming. Obviously, you are being planted by the PRs of the said film. Arre yaar, hum itne bhi toh naadaan nahi hai na (I am not so naive). Do it outside, I will engage with you for 45 minutes.”
Ekta Kapoor, who is producing Lock Upp, also supported Kangana and said, “It's a different press conference, my friend.” Last week, Freddy had shared a post targeting the clothes worn by Deepika and Ananya Panday during Gehraiyaan promotions that read, “Newton's Law of Bollywood. The clothes will get tinier as the Gehraiyyan release date approaches." A part of the caption read, "Necklines and hemlines are Gehraiyaan." The journalist at Kangana’s event referred to this post and asked the actress’ view point but was savagely shut down.
Deepika had also responded to Freddy’s post on her Instagram stories without tagging him and shared a note that read, “Scientists say the universe is made of protons, neutrons, and electrons. They forgot to mention morons." Although she did not make a reference to Freddy, he shared the story on his own account and wrote, “The first non-fake comment in Deepika Padukone's entire career," a phrase he repeated in a longer post on Monday evening that read, “Dear Deepika, I;m not “mocking you” for wearing tiny clothes. You can wear your hemlines till your toes or your ears. For all I care. And thank you for calling me a ‘moron’. It’s the only non-fake thing you’ve uttered in your entire career. Love, Fred.”
Freddy Birdy is an extremely popular social media influencer who is followed by several Bollywood celebs like Kareena Kapoor Khan, Anushka Sharma, Alia Bhatt and others.
