Known as the nightingale of Indian cinema, Lata Mangeshkar bid adieu to the world this morning. Recipient of Bharat Ratna, National Awards, Dadasaheb Phalke Award and countless others, she breathed her last at Mumbai's Breach Candy hospital after being on the ventilator for quite some hours.
Now, government sources informed ANI that there will be two-day national mourning in memory of the legendary singer. "Two-day national mourning to be observed in memory of Lata Mangeshkar. The National flag to fly at half-mast for two days, as a mark of respect," the sources told ANI.

In January, Lata Didi was admitted to Breach Candy hospital after contracting COVID-19. She was taken off ventilator support after showing signs of recovery. She was also battling pneumonia with coronavirus. Lata Didi was once again put on the ventilator on Saturday when her health deteriorated.
She was 92 years old.
