India's Nightingale, Lata Mangeshkar, has left for her heavenly abode. The end of a musical era came this morning after the legendary singer and Bharat Ratna succumbed to multi-organ failure and chest congestion. She was admitted to Mumbai's Breach Candy hospital for a COVID-19 infection followed by pneumonia. 

According to sources, Lata Didi's mortal remains will be taken to her residence, Prabhu Kunj, at 12.30 pm for two hours. Later, the Mangeshkar family will be cremating the legendary singer at Shivaji Park. Before the cremation, the body will be kept for people to offer their last respects. Sources state that the funeral is expected to take place at 6 pm today with full state honours.

Presently, Lata Didi's body has been shifted out of the ICU.
