Hours after the demise of legendary singer Lata Mangeshkar, the Board of Cricket Control in India (BCCI) announced that the Indian cricket team will wear a black band during the first ODI match against West Indies on Sunday (February 6).
“Indian Players will sport black armbands in the first ODI against West Indies at the Narendra Modi Stadium to condole the demise of Lata Mangeshkar. The national flag will fly at half-mast," BCCI vice-president Rajeev Shukla had earlier informed news agency ANI.
The Indian Cricket Team is wearing black armbands today to pay their respects to Bharat Ratna Lata Mangeshkar who passed away today.

Lata didi passed away on Sunday morning at Mumbai's Breach Candy Hospital, where she had been receiving treatment for COVID-19 for three weeks. When her health began to deteriorate on Saturday, she was placed on a ventilator and was constantly being monitored by the doctors. Unfortunately, the legend breathed her last today morning.
