In December 2020, Ranbir Kapoor revealed in an interview that Alia Bhatt and he would have sealed the deal had the pandemic not hit their lives. He said, "I think it (the wedding) would have already been sealed had the pandemic not hit our lives." Now, Alia, talking to a news portal, confirmed that Ranbir was right. 

The actress, who is promoting Gangubai Kathiawadi, said she has been married to Ranbir for a long time, but in her head. "He is right but, in my head, I am married to Ranbir, in fact, I am married to Ranbir in my head for a long time. Everything happens for a reason. Whenever we do get married it will work out right and in a beautiful way," Alia shared.

Alia and Ranbir will be featuring together for the first time in Ayan Mukerji's Brahmastra. They met each other on the sets of the mythological-fantasy film which is in the making for quite some years now. The film is scheduled to release on September 9 this year.
