Bappi Lahiri, at the age of 69, breathed his last on Tuesday night. Just a day before his demise, he was discharged from Mumbai's CritiCare Hospital after seeking treatment for OSA for almost a month. When his health deteriorated, his family members rushed him to a hospital but he, unfortunately, couldn't make it through. Bappi Da's son-in-law Govind Bansal told a media agency that the legendary composer-singer suffered a heart attack within half an hour of having dinner on Tuesday.
Govind, who is married to Bappi Da's daughter Rema Lahiri, told the agency, "He had been admitted to the hospital for three weeks but was discharged and was back home. He also had his dinner last night at around 8:30-9 pm. But within half an hour of having his dinner, he got a heart attack. His pulse rate had gotten low. He was rushed to the hospital and the doctors declared at 11:44 that he is no more."
Bappi Da was cremated on Thursday after his son Bappa Lahiri returned from the US with his wife Taneesha and son Krishh.
