Deepika Padukone confirms working on father Prakash Padukone's biopic

Deepika Padukone, who is one of Bollywood's most successful and highest-paid celebrities, has ventured into production and recently, she co-produced Kabir Khan's 83. In the film, she starred opposite her husband Ranveer Singh, who played the lead role. Now, Deepika confirmed that she is working on her father, renowned Badminton player Prakash Padukone's biopic.

In a recent chat with Cyrus Broacha, Deepika said, "I am working on it. Actually, even before 83 happened, he (Prakash Padukone) was one of the first Indian athletes to put India on the global map as far as Indian sport is concerned. He won the World Championship in 1981, which was obviously before 1983."

Talking about his struggle and hardships, Deepika added, "He trained in a marriage hall, that was his badminton court. He used things like the beams that go across to make his shot more precise. He actually used his disadvantages to his advantage. If he had the facilities that athletes in India have today, then he’d be far more superior."

Is Ranveer the top contender to play his father-in-law on the big screen?
