Manasi Parekh opens up about her next 'Dear Father' with Paresh Rawal, says 'it has a very strong script'

Actress Manasi Parekh is all set for the release of her second Gujarati film Dear Father. The film stars Paresh Rawal and Chetan Dhanani alongside Manasi in lead roles. The film's trailer which was unveiled a few days ago, has received a positive response and is being touted as an eagerly-awaited movie. Known for having done some hard-hitting roles that are remembered till date, Manasi is all set to return to the screens in yet another similar role. She lays Alka, a strong-headed daughter-in-law who does not hesitate to show her emotions and express what she feels.

Ask her what sold her in on signing Dear Father, Manasi replied, "The reason I decided to do Dear Father as my second Gujarati film was because it was a very very strong script. But most importantly, Paresh Bhai offered this part to me and I had to say Yes. It is a dream come true for any actor to be working with him. Also, the role that I am performing is of a very strong modern woman, who minces no words and is ready to put on a fight if she is challenged."

Elaborating further on her role as Alka, Manasi revealed, "She’s a very grey character. If she’s angry she shows it, if she doesn’t like something she says it. She’s not somebody who tries to be sweet to make the other person feel good. And she has a very very bitter sweet relationship with her father-in-law. We’ve always seen conflicts happen between the mother-in-law and daughter-in-law but I think in this film you will see conflicts between the father-in-law and the daughter-in-law. That was one of the reasons I took up this project because the concept was intriguing to me."

Dear Father will hit the big screens on March 4 and marks Paresh Rawal's return to Gujarati films after 40 years. The film, which has been adapted from the Gujarati play by the same name, marks Manasi's second outing in Gujarati cinema.
