Gangubai Kathiawadi box office collection day 3: Alia Bhatt's film collects almost Rs. 40 crore on its first weekend

Basking in the success of her recently released Gangubai Kathiawadi, Alia Bhatt is certainly on cloud nine with all the spectacular reviews and audience responses coming in. The actress, who collaborated with Sanjay Leela Bhansali for the very first time for Gangubai Kathiawadi, celebrated the big-screen release of her film by visiting several theatres on the day of release. Now, the first-weekend box-office collection has come in, and looks like, Alia's film has opened to great numbers.

SLB has brought a heroic start to the box office. Despite 50% occupancy in key circuits like Mumbai and Delhi and no night shows in Delhi circuit, the film has performed very well and earned a good amount in its first weekend. The film had registered an opening of 10.50 crore and had collected 13.32 crore on day two. It showed decent growth on Sunday, collecting over 15 crore, taking its weekend collections to around 39,12 crores
