Akshay Kumar and Emraan Hashmi, who announced their first film together Selfiee on January 12, 2022, have kickstarted the shoot now. The film is the Hindi remake of 2019 Malayalam film Driving License, directed by Lal Jr, which featured Prithviraj Sukumaran and Suraj Venjaramoodu. The Hindi remake will be directed by Raj Mehta and is produced by Karan Johar's Dharma Productions.

Sharing the photo of Selfiee's clapboard, KJo wrote on Instagram, "It's Day 1 for #Selfiee. Need all your blessings for this made adventure ahead for the team". This is the first time Akshay and Emraan are sharing screenspace.

Selfiee will be backed by Karan Johar's Dharma Productions and helmed by Jugg Jugg Jeeyo director Raj Mehta. The film, which has now gone on floors, will also mark Prithviraj Sukumaran and Magic Frames' debut in Hindi cinema production.
