Pakistani actor Sana Javed is facing backlash from her peers in the industry, with many calling her ‘unprofessional’ after model Manal Saleem took to Instagram and hinted that the actress called her ‘do takay ki model’. Though Manal hadn’t named Sana directly in her post, makeup artists Ikram Gohar and Rhyan Thomas were quick to ‘recognize’ who the model was referring to. Ikram and Rhyan reposted Saleem’s story, tagging Sana.
In her defense, Sana filed a legal complaint and shared the pictures of the notice with a caption that read, "In the past 72 hours I've been subjected to all sorts of lies and fabricated stories, bullying, hate speech and threats. A proper planned smear campaign has been initiated against me by a group of individuals, that has caused severe trauma not only to me but to my family. I'm shocked to see how toxic people can be and how quickly everyone jumps on a bandwagon without knowing all the facts. As far as the incident is concerned everyone knows one side of the story and I refuse to comment and discuss what was said and done by the other party as its beyond disgusting and disgraceful to even mention here. I've decided to take this matter forward with the legal authorities. I love my work and hold it in the highest regards and throughout my career I've tried my best to hold my ground and my integrity by giving utmost respect to my collegues and peers and expected the same in return. Saying that, now this matter is with the legal authorities and I will be pursuing all legal options against this group of people. I would like to thank my friends and fans who stood by me and did not believe in such fabricated stories. You are my strength and we will see this through. May the truth prevail. Aameen."
Artist Wajid Khan shared his bad experience with Sana on Instagram and wrote, "I normally keep away from such issues because I don’t want to stoop so low as our stars do. I am not too surprised to hear about Sana Javed as this has been a recurring issue for evenyone who has worked with her. My brand was signed as the makeup artist for a project and when I was doing her make-up, I suggested her some ideas to enhance her look on screen as I have worked with big screen actresses in Pakistan, US and in India. She had the audacity to go to Producers and said that “wajid toh meri buraiyya kar raha hai and I am not comfortable working with him’. So I was asked to step back from the project because she made them do so. Trust me, I have worked with much bigger names at IIFA and Miss Universe, but I have not come across anyone who is so toxic and unprofessional as her. She should focus more on her acting rather than playing games with people. We are all artists and as important as anyone else on the set. If she doesn’t know how to respect the fellow artists, then industry should not work with such shallow people who only bring defame to a project."
Several other models and make-up/hair artists also shared their share of bad experiences with Sana and called her 'rude and arrogant'.
