Filmmaker Vinod Kapri shares heartwarming video of 19-year-old McDonald's worker Pradeep Mehra who runs a 10-km stretch daily to his home in Noida, aspires to join the Indian Army

Filmmaker Vinod Kapri recently shared a video of a young man names Pradeep Mehra, who is seen sprinting purposefully down a Noida road at midnight. In the now-video that racked up thousands of views within minutes of being posted on social media on Sunday evening, despite being soaked in sweat, the runner, in a perplexing move, repeatedly turned down the filmmaker's offers to give him a ride home.

“This is PURE GOLD. Last night, at around 12am, I saw this boy running on a road in Noida with a bag on his shoulders. I thought that he is facing some trouble, so I should offer him lift. However, he declined my offer. You will fall in love with him when you come to know why he said ‘no’ to taking lift,” the filmmaker wrote on Twitter.

“Come, I'll drop you,” Vinod said, to which the ‘sprinter’ replied saying he wants to continue running. On being prodded, he said he goes for work like this only, adding that he works at a McDonald's outlet in sector 16. However, when Vinod insisted on giving him a lift, the latter finally revealed the reason why he is running on the road in the middle of the night: he wants to join the army. Pradeep Mehra, who says he is from Uttarakhand's Almora, declined one final offer to accept the lift, saying he runs at night because in the morning he has to wake up early for duty and cook food.

Originally from Uttarakhand, Pradeep Mehra runs a 10-km stretch daily, from his job in Noida's Sector 16 to his home in Barola, where he lives with his brother.
