Ever since, Rishi Kapoor’s death, his wife Neetu Kapoor has put on a brave front and after gathering the broken pieces of her heart has made a comeback to films with her upcoming film Jug Jugg Jeeyo. Now, Rishi and Neetu’s son Ranbir Kapoor who has been relentlessly promoting the former’s swansong film Sharmaji Namkeen has spoken up about his mother and the fact that after giving up her career at the age of 21, she was not confident to make a comeback. He also said that he is unsure whether his mom has healed post his father’s death.
During an interview with an online portal, Ranbir said that he doesn't know whether Neetu has healed post Rishi's death. Revealing that her work might help her heal, the actor said, “I don't know what my mother went through. My mother was a rock to my father (throughout) this hard time. She was there through everything. I mean the kind of selflessness that I've seen my mother go through is something which I've never seen anybody (go through) anywhere else, and I don't know if she's healed, you know. I don't know if she has or she has not. Maybe she needs therapy, maybe she needs to speak it out - maybe through her work, maybe through interacting with people that have come out. But I'm really, really happy that she's doing this."
Neetu had been with Rishi as his rock ever since he was diagnosed with cancer and was heartbroken at his demise. However, post his demise she has been spending quality time with her daughter Riddhima and her extended family.
Both Neetu and Ranbir were present at Sharmaji Namkeen’s screening which has gained raved reviews from the critics for a heartwarming story.
