Alia Bhatt and Ranbir Kapoor’s dreamy wedding held on April 14 still continues to be the talk of the town, thanks to all the mesmerizing pictures that have been doing rounds on the internet. While their festivities are remembered for being lowkey, intimate and full of love and laughter, filmmaker Karan Johar gave us another reason to reminisce the occasion.
In the latest clip shared by ColorsTV’s social media handle, Karan is seen recalling a funny incident from RanLia’s mehendi ceremony.
In a shot, as comedienne Bharti Singh made joke on Karan's 'Pinky' outfit choices for the wedding, Parineeti Chopra held Karan’s hand and showed everyone his henna-clad palms. “Pehle main aap logo ko ek bohut sweet cheeze dikhaun (Let me show you all a very sweet thing),” she said. KJo then shared a funny incident explaining the story behind the mehendi. “Mai batana chahta hu ke mere sath mehendi pe kya hua. Maine pehli baar hathon mein mehendi daali thi aur maine socha tha jab Alia ki shaadi hogi tab mai zaroor daaluga mehendi. (I want to say what happened with me at the mehendi ceremony. I had applied henna for the first time. I had thought when Alia will get married I’ll apply mehendi for sure.) Abhi I am not used to it aur bohot garmi bhi thi toh maine mehendi laga di aur phir mai apna passena pohchne laga aur mai bhu laya k hathon mein mehendi thi. (Now, I am not used to mehendi and it was very hot too. So I forgot I had applied henna on my palms and I wiped the sweat off from my face.) Toh saara mehendi jo hai mere sarr pe, mere maathe pe, mere chehre pe lag gaya. And immediately mujhe wash karna padd gaya. (So the entire mehendi got smeared on my head, forehead, and face. I had to immediately wash it),” he said.
“Waha Puneet hai, jo Alia ka makeup karti hai toh wo andar chali gayi and mujhe pata nahi kya kya lotion daal dia mere chehre pe. Warna poora henna jo hai na mere chehre pe hota (Alia’s makeup artist Puneet came to the rescue and she applied lotion on my face. Otherwise the entire henna would have been on my face).”
In conclusion, Bharti made a lighter joke saying, "Thank God unhone thoda makeup kardiya aur utar gaya warna aesa lagta ki kisi dada ne paan khakar… aese kardiya (Thank God she applied makeup or else it would look like someone had eaten betel leaf and…).”
Now, that’s something to remember, isn’t it Karan?
