Ajay devgn’s Drishyam, which was released in 2015 was a blockbuster hit. The film was the Hindi remake of Mohanlal’s Malayalam film of the same name that released in 2013. The film also had Tabu and Shriya Saran in the leading roles. Now, the sequel to the Hindi hit is in the works as Mohanlal’s Drishyam 2 released last year on OTT. Joining the stellar cast this time around is non-other-than Akshaye Khanna who was welcomed on board by Tabu today. However, the actress did not divulge any details about his role in the film.
Taking to Instagram, Tabu made the announcement by sharing a picture with Akshaye and wrote, “Delighted to have a gem of an actor on board for #Drishyam2 Akshaye Khanna..#TrulyTalented.”
Ajay has already kickstarted the shoot of Drishyam 2 amid his recently released film Runway 34. Tabu has now joined him on shoot as well. Ajay and Shriya will be reprising their role in the murder mystery of husband and wife Vijay Salgaonkar and Nandini Salgaonkar. The Hindi remake was directed by Nishikant Kamat who passed away on August 17, 2020 after suffering from cirrhosis. The sequel is being directed by Abhishek Pathak.
