Aamir Khan’s daughter Ira Khan has been facing a lot of flak lately for her birthday outfit. Ringing in her birthday on May 8, Ira posted a series of pictures on her Instagram post giving us a glimpse of her poolside celebrations.
Moments after her post, Ira was called out for wearing a bikini around her actor father. Many people told her to ‘have some shame’ while others trolled her saying to ‘at least get dressed before cutting the cake.’
Amidst trolls attacking Ira, singer Sona Mohapatra came out in support of Aamir’s 25-year-old daughter asking the haters to ‘buzz off.’ “All the people outraging about Ira Khan’s choice of attire or linking it to what #AamirKhan said, did or didn’t in the past please note; she is 25. A free, thinking, adult woman. Is exercising her choices. Doesn’t need her dad’s approval or yours. BUZZ off. #Patriachy #India," read her post.
Many social media users lauded Sona for her strong-worded post and thanked the singer for voicing her opinion on this, “Respect your voice on this. More power to free choice and better thinking by us as the world,” said one user, ‘Truly in love with you #sonamohapatra for being the way you are,” commented another.
Ira turned 25 on May 8 and celebrated her big day with her parents Aamir and Reena Dutta and her boyfriend Nupur Shikhare.
