The prestigious and popular Festival De Cannes or the Cannes Film Festival commenced on Tuesday in France. This year, numerous Indian celebrities will be seen walking the red carpet for various reasons. For the first time, India was announced as the official country of honour at the Marche Du Films, also called Cannes Film Market. It is held on the sidelines of the Cannes Film Festival.  

On the opening day of the Cannes Film Festival 2022, Union Minister for Information and Broadcasting Anurag Thakur led the Indian delegation. Celebrities like R Madhavan, Kamal Haasan, Nawazuddin Siddiqui, A R Rahman, Shekhar Kapur,  Mame Khan, Vani Tripathi, Rickey Kej, and Prasoon Joshi were with Mr Thakur.
