‘They don't make them like him anymore,' say Emraan Hashmi, Akshay Kumar, Ram Charan and others as they bid ‘Alvida’ to playback singer KK


Singer Krishnakumar Kunnath, fondly known as KK left the music and film industry as well as the millions of fans in an utter state of shock and disbelief with his untimely passing. Bollywood’s most-adored playback singer, left the mortal world for a heavenly abode on Tuesday, May 31, after performing in his last show at Nazrul Manch in South Kolkata. He was 53.

Moments after the news, condolences started pouring in honoring the playback singer and his musical legacy. Actor Emran Hashmi, to whom KK lent his soulful voice for many chartbuster songs, mourned the singer’s untimely demise.

"A voice and talent like no other. They don't make them like him anymore. Working on the songs he sang was always that much more special. You will always be in our hearts KK and live eternally through your songs. RIP Legend KK."

Choreographer and director Farah Khan shared a throwback pic with KK on Instagram. She wrote, "You have gone too soon KK ... u were so different and Real ... in a super ambitious industry u stood out for your unfilminess ... #realartist thank you for giving my films your iconic voice."

Akshay Kumar wrote, “Extremely sad and shocked to know of the sad demise of KK. What a loss! Om Shanti”

Arjun Rampal tweeted, “No no no. Numb. Can’t stop the tears. Cause your voice filled our hearts with love. RIP KK. #gonetoosoon #kk”

Actress Shirley Sethia also paid a heartwarming tribute to the departed singer. “My heart breaks as I write this. I don’t want to believe this is true. I cannot process this. Please noo… #KK sir,” she tweeted.

South superstar Kamal Haasan, tweeted in Tamil, "The news of the untimely death of Krishnakumar Kunnath alias KK, who entertained the fans by singing in multiple languages, is shocking. My condolences to the family, friends, and fans who lost him."

Telugu megastar Chiranjeevi expressed his shock at KK's untimely death in Kolkata on Tuesday. "Heartbroken at the shocking demise of KK. Gone too soon! A fabulous singer and a great soul. He sang 'Daayi Daayi Damma' from 'Indra' for me. My heartfelt condolences to his family & near and dear ones. May his soul rest in peace! #RIPKK."

Superstar Ram Charan extended his condolences to KK's family and fans. "With a heavy heart, I extend my condolences to KK ‘s family and fans . Your voice will remain in our hearts forever. Rest in peace KK," he tweeted.
