Krishnakumar Kunnath aka KK passed away on May 31, after a live performance in Kolkata. He was 53-years-old. In the preliminary autopsy report the doctors have ruled out any foul play and termed the cause of death as massive cardiac arrest. Now, the last few moments of KK at the hotel after he returned from his concert in Kolkata on video is going viral. Soon after reaching his hotel the singer collapsed and was rushed to the hospital.
In the video, we can see that the singer is sweating profusely and has a towel around his neck while his T-shirt seems drenched with sweat. Reportedly, the singer had complained of excessive heat at the Nazrul Mancha auditorium during his performance and even took a break in-between to take rest but later came back to finish the show.
The singer soon fell ill after the show and was immediately rushed to the hospital but was declared ‘brought dead’ by the doctors. His mortal remains were brought back to Mumbai last evening and his funeral will take place today in the presence of his family and friends.
KK was accorded full state honours and a gun salute at Rabindra Sadan by West Bengal Chief Minister Mamata Banerjee yesterday.
