Shilpa Shetty recalls her mother Sunanda Shetty's reaction after seeing her exam result, says 'she said you're going to be absolutely nikammi'

Shilpa Shetty is gearing up for her theatrical comeback with Nikamma. The actress is returning to the silver screen after a break of 14 years. The Sabbir Khan directorial features her as Avni, who is Abhimanyu Dassani's sister-in-law. During an interaction with the media in Mumbai, Shilpa spoke about the time her mother Sunanda Shetty felt she was an absolute nikammi (useless).

Talking about the incident, Shilpa said, "It happened to me when my mom saw my prelims report just before my SSC examination. I had scored some 48 percent, which was disgraceful. I was a volleyball player. I was more into extracurricular activities and I was selected for the Bombay zone as a volleyball player. But, when my mom saw my result she bawled for the first time. She said you're going to be absolutely useless, worthless, and nikammi."

While Nikamma was going to be Shilpa's return to films. However, due to the pandemic, the film's release got pushed ahead. In that period, her film Hungama 2 premiered on Disney+Hotstar. Despite this, Shilpa maintains that Nikamma remains to be her ideal comeback film.

Nikamma, also starring Shirley Setia, will release on June 17.
