Vicky Kaushal today took to social media to share update about his much-anticipated film Sam Bahadur. The film is a biopic on Field Marshal Sam Manekshaw and Vicky will play the role of the titular war hero, directed by Meghna Gulzar. The actor shared the news that prep for the film has started today.
Sharing a picture of the script along with some pictures of Sam Manekshaw, Vicky wrote on Instagram, “Here we go… Prep starts!!! #SAMBAHADUR @meghnagulzar @rsvpmovies.” Sam Bahadur has been produced by Ronnie Screwvala under his production banner RSVP Movies. This is the second time that Vicky is teaming up with Meghna for a film after working with her in Raazi (2017).
Sam Bahadur also stars Sanya Malhotra in the role of Manekshaw’s wife Silloo and Fatima Sana Shaikh who will be seen in the role of former Indian Prime Minister Indira Gandhi. The script of the film has been penned by Bhavani Iyer along with Gulzar and Shantanu Srivastava.
Sam Manekshaw was the Chief of the Army Staff of the Indian Army during the Indo-Pakistan War of 1971 and the first Indian Army officer to be promoted to the rank of Field Marshal. His active military career spanned four decades and five wars, beginning with his service in the British Indian Army in World War II.
