Alia Bhatt is ‘overwhelmed’ by the messages and comments she has received ever since she announced on Monday that she is expecting her first child with husband Ranbir Kapoor in an Instagram post. However, she is not exactly happy the way media outlets have started dishing out rumours and speculations about her and particularly called out an online portal that claimed Ranbir might travel to the UK to “bring his wife home”, who is currently in London filming her big Hollywood debut Heart of Stone with Gal Gadot. The report claims that Alia will wrap work on her current projects- Heart Of Stone and Rocky Aur Rani Ki Prem Kahani - by mid-July so that she can fulfill her professional commitments and take the necessary rest before the baby arrives.
In an Instagram story, she slammed the media outlet and wrote, “Meanwhile in some people's heads, we still live in some patriarchal world...FYI. Nothing has gotten delayed. No one needs to pick anyone up. I am a woman not a parcel. I do not need to rest at all but good to know you'll have a doctor's certification as well. This 2022. Can we please get out of this archake way of thinking.(sic)" She signed off by saying, “Now if you would excuse me.. My shot is ready."
In another post she corrected her spelling of ‘archaic’ and wrote, “*archaic* I’m lovely but I’m also terrible with my spellings.”
Before this, Alia had shared a picture with Ranbir from their wedding festivities on her Instagram story and written, “"overwhelmed with all the love." The actress added, "Have tried to read everyone's messages and good wishes and all I want to say is, it truly feels so special to celebrate such a big moment in our lives with all your love and blessings. Thank you every single one of you."
She had made the pregnancy announcement by sharing a picture of her ultrasound with Ranbir sitting next to her hospital bed and captioned it, “Our baby... Coming soon."
