Ek Villain Returns Shaamat Song: Tara Sutaria as a rockstar professes love for Arjun Kapoor, makes a chart-topping singing debut with the track

After the success of Galliyaan Returns and Dil, the makers of Ek Villain Returns have dropped a new song Shaamat which has been sung by none other than the female lead of the film, Tara Sutaria. This is the first time Tara has lent her vocals to any Hindi film song. Shaamat features her and Arjun Kapoor and shows snippets of their love and romance. Tara is seen as a rockstar who performs in concerts crooning in her soulful voice to a mesmerized audience while Arjun can be seen backstage and in BTS clips of the rock show. EK Villain Returns also stars John Abraham and Disha Patani.

Shaamat is also sung and composed by Ankit Tiwari and penned by Prince Dubey. Raju Khan has choreographed the song. The rock anthem will definitely get you grooving. Talking about singing and filming Shaamat, Tara said, “Its been such an unusual experience for me and this feeling is incomparable as Shaamat marks my debut in singing for film. Apart from the making process of the song, I had a great experience in shooting with Arjun. He is a gem both on and off set – this song was the beginning of the film shoot for us and also the beginning of a wonderful equation we’ve built over the last two years in making the film.”

Talking about the song Arjun revealed that it sowed the seeds of friendship between the two stars and said, “There’s a visual where Tara is put on a harness and she has to be ziplined onto the stage. It was a night shoot and Tara was excited and nervous about doing the zipline visual. I had very few shots but we all ended up staying back because we all wanted to see Tara perform it. Of course she managed to do it very well and I ended up shooting a video of it on my phone and showing it to her later. It was so much fun watching her shoot her first stunt being on the harness while performing as a rockstar and being there for her.” He also mentioned how the cast had a lot of fun being in Goa for the shoot and getting to bond with the members.

Ek Villain Returns is directed by Mohit Suri and jointly produced by Bhushan Kumar and Krishan Kumar's T-Series and Ekta Kapoor's Balaji Telefilms. The film will release in theatres on July 29.
