Salman Khan's security was beefed up after the superstar came under the radar of gangster Lawrence Bishnoi, whose name surfaced in the murder of singer Sidhu Moosewala. On July 22, Salman submitted an application seeking a weapon licence for protection after his father Salim Khan received a death threat.
Now, the Mumbai Police issued an Arms licence to the superstar. As per reports, the licence issuing authority had started the necessary investigation after Salman met Commissioner Vivek Phansalkar and Joint Commissioner of Police (Law and Order) Vishwas Nangre Patil at the Mumbai Police headquarters in July. He visited the headquarters for physical verification too.
Lawrence Bishnoi, who is currently in jail, is being questioned in connection with the assassination of Sidhu. During an interrogation, he revealed his plan to kill Salman to teach him a lesson over the 1998 blackbuck poaching case.
Salman applied for an Arms licence after a threat letter addressed to him and Salim was found at Mumbai’s Bandra Bandstand promenade.
