Alia Bhatt to add 'Kapoor' to her name, says 'I am happy to do it'

Alia Bhatt, who is expecting her first child with her husband Ranbir Kapoor later this year, will be changing her name on her passport soon. In an interview with a leading daily, the actress confirmed that she will be adding Kapoor to her surname.

Alia married Ranbir in an intimate ceremony on April 14 this year at their Bandra residence. Talking to the daily, the actress said she is happy to add Kapoor to her surname on official documents. She revealed that while Ranbir changed his marital status on his passport promptly after the wedding, she didn't get the chance to do so because of work commitments.

On June 27, Alia announced her pregnancy with a picture from one of her sonography sessions. She wrote, "Our baby ….. coming soon (sic)."
