'Oh My God 2 isn't releasing on October 2 this year,' confirms Akshay Kumar!

Akshay Kumar is returning to the popular Oh My God franchise. The second part of the series, starring Pankaj Tripathi and Yami Gautam, will see the superstar in the role of Lord Shiva. While the team of Oh My God 2 is yet to announce the release date, there were rumours that it will debut in theatres in October this year.

At the trailer launch of his upcoming film Cuttputlli, Akshay clarified that Oh My God 2 isn't releasing on October 2. Without sharing further details, he told, "Pehli baat hain ki October 2 ko Oh My God 2 toh bilkul nahi ayega...aapke sutron ne galat bataya."

Oh My God 2 was announced on October 23 last year. Sharing the first poster, the superstar wrote, "Need your blessings and wishes for #OMG2, our honest and humble attempt to reflect on an important social issue. Oh My God 1 released in 2012. The satirical comedy-drama film starred Paresh Rawal in the lead along with Akshay as Lord Krishna. The storyline was based on a Gujarati stage play titled Kanji Virudh Kanji
