National Film Award: Ajay Devgn expresses gratitude after winning his third Best Actor award for Tanhaji; shares picture with fellow awardee Suriya

Ajay Devgn, on Friday night, shared a video from his big day of winning the National Film Award for Best Actor. The actor received the Best Actor National Film Award for Tanhaji: The Unsung Warrior. Sharing a video that showcased his three roles for which he won the National Award, Ajay wrote, “Not counting the wins or the blessings, just feeling grateful for all of it. Most importantly, your love. I share this win with all of you. Honoured to receive my awards from the President of India Smt. Droupadi Murmu." He shared the Best Actor award with Suriya, who won for Soorarai Pottru.

Ajay now has four National Film Awards to his name- three in the Best Actor category and a fourth as a producer of Tanhaji: The Unsung Warrior, which clinched the Best Popular Film Providing Wholesome Entertainment at this year’s Award listing. The actor-producer-director has previously won the National Film Award for Best Actor for his performances in Zakhm (1998) and The Legend of Bhagat Singh (2002).

Ajay also shared a picture with his fellow Best Actor winner, Suriya and wrote, “It was fantastic to share time with my esteemed colleague & fellow best actor award winner, @Suriya_offl. Deeply respect his talent & love his movies.”

Tanhaji: The Unsung Warrior was directed by Om Raut and co-produced by Ajay and Bhushan Kumar. The film also stars Kajol, Saif Ali Khan, Pankaj Tripathi, Luke Kenny and Sharad Kelkar in pivotal roles and tells the story of Tanhaji Malusare, a Maratha warrior.

Meanwhile on the work front, Ajay will be seen in Drishyam 2, Thank God, Maidaan and Bholaa which he is also directing.
