Amid this, Richa and Ali's spokesperson issued a statement clarifying that the actors have been legally married for 2.5 years and now, they are just celebrating their union with their close ones.

The statement read, "This is to clarify that Richa Chadha and Ali Fazal have been legally married for 2.5 years when they registered their wedding. Currently, they are celebrating their union with friends and family, as was already mentioned by them on 29th September in their statement. They have hosted their wedding receptions and parties in Delhi and Lucknow and are now doing a final event with a reception tonight in Mumbai. They wanted to celebrate both their Punjabi and Lucknowi culture. The details of their celebrations were curated to thoughtfully reflect their persona and their heritage. The clothes too were designed with special touches being added through heirloom jewellery and custom-made trousseau including a saree custom made to reflect their love story."

In Lucknow, Ali's family hosted a ceremony for Richa. The ceremony was graced with a Qawwali performance by the Sabri Brothers of Rajasthan. The decor was completed with golden custom-made drapes and chandelier candle holders, staying true to the Avadhi culture. Apart from this, the food was prepared by Lebua, a heritage family-run hotel in the centre of Lucknow with special dishes being prepared by Mahmoodabadi, another traditional family-run catering company that honours the cuisine of the region.

Richa and Ali's mehendi and sangeet were characterised by their love for nature with the decor being inspired by nature with a lot of natural elements like florals, jute, wood etc. The couple did a fun Phoolon Ki Holi as their friends and family showered them in a customary way. There was a colourful setup for Richa's Mehendi which was followed by performances by their friends and cousins.
