Kangana Ranaut to play Bengali theatre superstar Noti Binodini in Pradeep Sarkar’s directorial

The Padmashri and four times National Award winning actor Kangana Ranaut has signed yet another grand entertainer. The actress has signed up to play the role of one of the most iconic names in the Bengal history Noti Binodini.

Noti Binodini was a legendary Theatre Superstar who established the theatre culture in India. During a career spanning twelve years she enacted over eighty roles, which included those of Pramila, Sita, Draupadi, Radha, Ayesha, Kaikeyi, Motibibi, and Kapalkundala, among others. She was one of the first South Asian actresses of the theatre to write her own autobiography.

This mega budget film will be directed by Pradeep Sarkar who's helmed films like Parineeti and Mardani. The promising entertainer is written by acclaimed writer Prakash Kapadia who has films like Tanhaji: The Unsung Warrior, Padmavat, Devdas,Black in his kitty.

When contacted Kangana said, "I am a very big fan of Pradeep Sarkaar ji and very happy for this opportunity. Also this will be my first collaboration with Prakash Kapadia ji and Iam completely thrilled to be part of this remarkable journey with some of the greatest artist of this country".

It is learnt that the Actress is expected to start shooting for the film early next year post Emergency. Talking about the forthcoming film, Kangana will be seen in Tejas essaying the role of an air force pilot and Emergency, playing the role of former Prime Minister, Indira Gandhi.
