Mahesh Manjrekar is wearing the director's hat once again for the pan-India Marathi film titled Vedat Marathe Veer Daudle Saat. The film was launched with a Mahurat shot at an event held in Mumbai today. Mahesh and the team of the historical film announced the lead actor's name.
Akshay Kumar will be playing the lead role. He will be essaying Chhatrapati Shivaji Maharaj on the silver screen. The superstar's first look as one of the greatest warriors of India was also unveiled at the event.
Talking about Vedat Marathe Veer Daudle Saat and playing Chhatrapati Shivaji Maharaj, Akshay told the media, "It is a huge task and I will give it my best shot. I will be working with Mahesh (Manjrekar) for the first time and it is going to be an experience." Mahesh plugged in and said, "I always had the desire to work with Akshay. Though I had many ideas, I feel this role will suit him the best. This role requires a strong personality and a particular look and Akshay has it all to play the role of a Hindu Samrat."
The announcement took place in the presence of Maharashtra Chief Minister Eknath Shinde, and MNS Chief Raj Thackeray.
Vedat Marathe Veer Daudle Saat is produced by Vaseem Qureshi - Qureshi Productions. The film is set to release in cinemas on Diwali 2023 in Marathi, Hindi, Tamil & Telugu.
