Last year, Peepingmoon.com informed its readers that Ranveer Singh's highly anticipated Anniyan remake with Robot director S. Shankar was delayed. The psychological action thriller that was announced on the occasion of Baisakhi last April was earlier supposed to go on floors in March 2022. However, the project did not take off.
Now, it has been reported that the duo is finally collaborating with each other but it is not for the same project. Shankar plans to direct Ranveer Singh in a trilogy based on the Tamil epic novel Velpari. The films will be released in multiple languages to help them reach a wide audience. Ranveer is said to be in talks to star in Shankar's big-screen adaptation of the Tamil novel Velpari. The franchise will feature three parts. The first installment is expected to go on floors in 2023.
“Shankar wants to make the biggest pan-Indian film by bringing one of the biggest superstars of our generation, superstar Ranveer Singh, to helm this ambitious project - a grand cinematic adaptation of the iconic Tamil epic Velpari. The novel has everything to offer – from a larger-than-life hero to incredible life lessons, to a heart-touching love story and magnificent visual-effect sequences whose scale will set the next benchmark of action spectacles in India," a source told a Bollywood website.
On the work front, Ranveer will be next seen in Rohit Shetty's Cirkus.
