Renowned actor Sunil Shende breathed his last in Mumbai on Monday. While the cause of his death was not disclosed, film critic Pavan Jha told a media agency that the actor passed away at his Vile Parle residence during the early hours of Monday. 

In a statement to a media agency, Pavan confirmed, "He died at his residence in Vile Parle at 1 am on Monday and his body was cremated in the afternoon at the Hindu crematorium in Parshiwada." He was in his 70s.

Sunil acted in films like Gandhi, Khal Nayak, Ghayaal, Ziddi, Daud, Magan, Viruddh, Circus, Shanti, and Sarfarosh.
