Akshay Kumar has taken a step back from Hera Pheri 3. The franchise, headlined by him along with Paresh Rawal and Suniel Shetty, has been making news for the longest time. Soon after the superstar confirmed his exit, fans have been requesting Suniel and Paresh to look into the matter and convince him to return as Raju. Now, during the press conference of Dharavi Bank on Thursday, Suniel spoke about Hera Pheri 3 and addressed rumours of Kartik Aaryan replacing Akshay.
Suniel assured fans of Hera Pheri that Akshay won't be replaced in the film and Kartik is in talks with the makers for a new character. He also said Akshay cannot be replaced. "There are speculations that Kartik replaced Akshay. See, Akshay cannot be replaced. The makers are in talks with Kartik for a completely different character. So, there’s no argument," Suniel told.
He further added that Akshay's void will always be there and after Dharavi Bank's release, he will sit down with the actor to understand the entire matter. "That void will always be there. What finally happens is something that needs to be seen. I am not aware because I am genuinely busy with Dharavi Bank. I have had no time to sit down and work on all this. After November 19, I’ll sit down and understand and talk to Akki and others and see what happened," he shared.
At a media event in Delhi on November 12, Akshay confirmed that he was offered Hera Pheri 3 but he wasn't happy with the script. "Hera Pheri has been a part of me. Like a lot of people, I have good memories of it. Mujhe bhi dukh hota hai ki itne saalon tak Hera Pheri 3 bani nahi. The film was offered to me, I was told about it but I was not satisfied with the screenplay and script. I have to see what people want to watch and that's why I backed off. I had to take a step back. Hera Pheri is a huge part of my life and journey. Mujhe dukh ho raha hai ki main nahi kar pa raha. I am not happy with the way things have shaped up," the superstar told.
Before the confirmation came from Akshay, Paresh had revealed on Twitter that Kartik is a part of Hera Pheri 3. This led to speculations of the actor replacing Akshay.
