Ayushmann Khurrana and Jaideep Ahlawat's An Action Hero is all set to release in theatres on December 2. Ahead of its release, director Anirudh Iyer spoke to the media during the film's promotion. Making his directorial debut, Anirudh opened up about casting Ayushmann, Jaideep and the reason behind directing An Action Hero. When PeepingMoon.com asked Anirudh whether the film is based on any real incident, the filmmaker denied it.
Anirudh told PeepingMoon, "An Action Hero isn't inspired by any true event. It is not based on any one event. It is about an extraordinary situation in an extraordinary man's life. I always say this thing, "Chhota aadmi kare toh galti, bada aadmi kare toh misaal." That's the whole thing about An Action Hero."
In An Action Hero, Ayushmann plays a famous actor Manav who gets engaged in a thrilling chase against a cop, played by Jaideep.
